Borthwen Beach Car Park, Silver Bay - Walk 2

6 miles
View Walk Details

A lovely walk, the real start point is the car park at Borthwen Beach (53.245388, -4.59076).  At busy times however the car park is quite small, so people park at the top of the single track road up near the White Eagle pub   (53.250417, -4.595029) and walk down to the beach - please take extra care down this road.

This is a lovely walk with some fantastic views, it starts at the Borthwen Beach, and then follows the coastal path to the Blue Ribbon Beach of Silver Bay.

SILVER BAY - Blue Ribbon Beach - please note access to Silver Bay via road is only through the private caravan site. So it you plan to spend some time on this lovely beach come prepared. It is quite a walk back to the car now -2 miles!

Forest away from Silver Bay

Walk away from Silver Bay through the forest and head inland, go past the farm buildings of Bryn y Bar, currently being renovated , follow the road be careful not to follow the coastal path! You then join the road you may have driven in on - so watch out for cars.

Follow the instructions careful, now as the cottage of Tŷ Werl is easily missed, remember you should be heading for the church. Hopefully this street view image will help; you are looking straight at the cottage and the  footpath is to RHS.  Heading inland your route takes you inland back to Rhoscolyn, and depending upon where you parked, you could easily cut this walk short, or stop for a pub lunch at the White Eagle.

Look down at Borthwen bay, this should behind you!

Your route continues further inland towards Holyhead Mountain, keep looking left as you get some great views back over Anglesey itself.
